What Is The S2O Festival?

During Songkran, the Thai New Year, water festivals are celebrated citywide, and S2O is held during this festive period. Since its debut in 2015, the festival has sold out annually, drawing many international visitors to Bangkok. Following Japan, which hosted the first overseas event, S2O has expanded to various locations, including Hong Kong, Seoul, Taiwan, Vietnam, and New York, garnering global attention.

S2O Festival Comes To Japan

The Japanese version of the dance music festival “S2O Songkran Music Festival” (S2O) is celebrated as “the world’s most soaking music festival,” combining the Thai Songkran water festival with pulsating music. The stage design is inspired by a massive water factory, complete with huge water tanks and suction pipes. S2O’s unique water-spraying machines, imported from Thailand, ensure that you experience dance music while being splashed from all sides.

First held in 2018, and again in 2019, the festival attracted a total of 65,000 people over its two-year run. Now, after a five-year break, “S2O Japan 2024” is set to return with even more excitement, taking place in the Odaiba R district on Saturday, August 3rd, and Sunday, August 4th.
