Japanese nightclubs in Tokyo and Osaka have re-opened despite the drastic increase of coronavirus cases.
Regardless, Japanese nightclubs promise a safe night out with various social distancing and sanitation protocols. This includes specialized dancing zones, the usage of coin trays, free masks for guests, air cleansing and frequently wiping down tables and bar counters with alcohol wipes.
The Japanese nightlife industry struggled during the State of Emergency in April and May. So much so, that a vast majority of the nightclubs and live houses began to crowdfund. Therefore if a second State of Emergency is announced, it could be the final nail on the coffin for many of Japan’s popular nightclubs.
If you do decide to party at a nightclub this summer, please take the necessary precautions such as wearing a mask and washing your hands frequently while keeping a distance.

Partygoers should expect lower numbers than usual, but the nightclubs are promising the same amount of entertainment and production as before. Below are the nightclubs that are currently open.

Osaka’s nightclubs were able to start opening early in July. Dotonbori is a complete ghost town without the international tourists, but the nightclubs promise a fun and safe night out.
